Not much of a chair, definitely
not princess material.
My daughter has been
using one of those folding metal chairs as her computer chair. And as a princess, of course, she complains that it is so hard and
proceeds to put a pillow on the seat for cushion.
So, as I finally made a trip to excess furniture sales on
the military base, I found these not so pretty chairs. The cost - $3.
(I spent a total of $20, several chairs, and other things). I already had the fabric I used for this project. But had I needed to buy fabric, I imagine I
would have gone for a cheap less fancy fabric and not spent more that $10 on
it.

My
particular chair was easy to disassemble, 4 screws for the back
support. Turn the chair over and
there were 4 more screws holding the seat.
I took
the time to remove the black bottom liner on the seat. It was time consuming, but basically
just use a flat-head screw driver to pry the staples up, and for the
difficult ones, I used pliers.
I didn't take the time to take off the original ugly covers; it was in fairly good
condition. So I just covered my new
fabric right over it.
Just
wrap the fabric around the piece.
Almost like wrapping a present.
Just use a staple gun to keep the fabric in place. (Note that if your fabric has design,
you will have to make sure the print is facing the right direction and is
centered.)
Also,
take note where the screws will go into, you want to make note to not
cover it.
Once you are satisfied, just screw the pieces back on.
AND TADA... Chair fit for a
princess!
